Next is the adjustment for
the top of the binoculars. I cut a square piece of butcher block or Teflon
material, drilled a hole at the centre and another on the side. I then turned
it on my lathe. The knob was turned from solid aluminum using a knurling tool
to cut the grip.
A coat of primer reveals
any scratches or imperfections that need to be fixed. I use Tamiya putty for
this.
And the finished product, mostly.
Just some very minor filling and sanding then it’s ready for molding, but
that’s another tutorial.
